Featuring styling cues from certain Lincoln models, the 9 Pro Chery Tiggo will reportedly be some 100 mm longer in length than the Tiggo 8 Pro.

Its success outside of China going to grow, especially in South Africa, resurgent Chery will soon officially unveil a new Chery flagship Tiggo SUV expected to the called the Tiggo 9 Pro.
-
Chinese styling meets German and American
Uncovered without disguise or pre-production body panels by China’s AutoHome, the Tiggo 9 Pro receives the same Mercedes-AMG Panamericana-inspired grille as the recently updated Tiggo 7 Pro, but everything changes from the B-pillar back.
-
Sporting a side profile similar to the Lincoln Navigator, the Tiggo 9 Pro is also longer, by a speculated 100 mm, with the door handles being pop-out items and the roof lowered at the rear.
-
The Lincoln-esque touches continue in not only the look of the 20-inch alloy wheels but also the curved bonnet sides that flow into the wings in a style similar not only to the Navigator but also to the smaller Nautilus.
-
At the rear, the entire rear gets its unique appearance with sharpened-off LED light clusters bearing a resemblance to those of the Audi Q8, connected via a chrome strip as well as an ultra-thin LED light bar running across the tailgate above the chrome Chery logo.
-
Although no interior images were revealed, reports are the Tiggo 9 Pro’s cabin will be derived from the Omada 5 and the mentioned facelift Tiggo 7 Pro, meaning the inclusion of the dual digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, removal of the Audi-inspired lower climate control panel and more specification items.
-
Upfront and when?
Set to provide seating for five or seven, motivation is expected to come from the in-house developed 2.0 T-GDI petrol engine that debuted in South Africa earlier this week in the Tiggo 8 Pro Max. This means outputs of 187kW/390Nm are fed to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
-
According to motor1.com Brazil, certain markets will also be privy to all-wheel-drive, plus a plug-in hybrid model tipped to produce the 236 kW as the Tiggo 7 Pro-plug-in hybrid does. As with the rest of the Tiggo Pro line-up, the Tiggo 9 Pro will be underpinned by Chery’s T1X platform.
-
Supposedly premiering during the first quarter of next year, expect more details to become apparent next year with the same applying to Chery South Africa’s decision of making the Tiggo 9 Pro available above the Tiggo 8 Pro.
